Matt Rogan

Matt leads Natural State’s efforts to develop robust and scalable ecosystem monitoring protocols that can quantify gains in biodiversity conservation and contributions to human wellbeing. Matt designs monitoring programmes in the rangelands around Mount Kenya using remote sensors and is developing automated community and population modeling workstreams to translate data into actionable information. In collaboration with other LCNR researchers, Matt and his colleagues at Natural State aim are developing generalizable systems for classifying transitional states of large-scale restoration projects in African savannas and trialing cutting edge innovations for measuring biodiversity.
